Where are your blindspots?
Jun 13, 2023
Sometimes, when we are knee deep in our business, we can't see what is starting right at us.
These are blindspots in your business, and we all have them.
My biggest ones are cash flow management and technology. I know this about myself, so I have people on my team to help me make sure I don't mess it up (I like to buy things, don't judge me!).
One of my biggest jobs as a coach is helping my clients see theirs.
For most people - the biggest blindspot is simply being too nice. That usually shows up as not charging fair market value, giving unnecessary discounts, letting their clients walk all over them, never saying no... sound familiar?
If it does - keep reading.
I have clients who have doubled their income simply by...
- Raising their rates to reflect the value of the work
- Ending relationships with toxic clients
- Saying no to extra work without compensation
- Ensuring they're being paid before work begins
Sounds simple, right? Not for everyone.
When this is a blindspot, it can be hard to see through.
I talked to a registered dietitian in my DMs last month who was struggling to raise rates because "other fitness coaches charge X"... this woman is a REGISTERED DIETITIAN with an actual degree and should abso-friggin-lutely be charging more than the person offering fitness nutrition coaching (and I know because I've been that person).
But... she is so nice (and we love her, and I know she reads my emails!), and didn't want to push the envelope and claim her space.
So my question to you is - what are your blindspots? Are you being too nice? What is showing up in your business that is actually hurting you?
