What throwing up on the floor taught me about business
Mar 08, 2022
I hear a lot about how easy business is supposed to be.
Especially in the coaching industry – business being easy is worn like a badge of honour.
If it’s not easy for you, you must be doing it wrong.
Here’s the thing… I am ALL about EASE, but there is a difference between *ease* and *easy*.
Business has never been easy for me.
Making sales has at times been easy… but business itself isn’t easy.
I get a lot of DMs from women asking “how do I make money on social media?”, “how do I make it look so easy?”
The answer is… I make it look easy, because for a long time it was really really hard.
So hard in fact – that I’ve put my body on the line in more ways than one.
I’ve lost sleep, I’ve stressed, and even went so far as becoming phyisically ill in the name of my business.
Yes – two years ago, while pregnant with my son – when we closed down our brick and mortar gym, I would run virtual classes from my garage…
…this in attempt to keep our members engaged, and continuing to pay their memberships…
…at a time when no one knew I was pregnant.
I would coach the class, turn off the camera, and immediately throw up on the floor.
Because something you do things that are really f*cking hard because you know that one day it will be easier.
Because it always gets easier.
So if you’re in a season of working hard, and wondering why its not easy yet… keep going.
Lay the foundation.
Do the hard thing.
Throw up on the floor (okay, not recommended).
…but its coming for you.
I know it.
