I've coached over 1000 people in the last 10 years, in various modalities.
Regardless of whether its nutrition, CrossFit, business, or something else entirely... there are traits that I've seen over and over again that continue to be markers for success.
Number one - they take radical responsibility for themselves.
Hard truth - no one can do this for you. It's not about having a strong work ethic, or having all the answers - it's about recognizing that everything, ultimately comes back to you.
No one is coming to save you.
You are the one who decides how you spend your time, how you structure your priorities, and how you move.
Number two - they are willing to mess up.
Mistakes in business are simply information. "Welp, that didn't work" is something you should be saying in business (gasp, I know!).
The people that find success are the people who are willing to try without necessarily having the evidence that it's going to work.
Number three - they are open to changing how they do things.
I can usually tell within my first meeting with a person whether or not they will be successful, and its largely because of this one thing. People who are successful in mentorship are successful because they are willing, and ready to change.
It is pointless to enter a mentorship container and be determined to do things the way you have always done.
Mentorship is magic, if you let it be.
