That time I wasted $5,000...
Feb 01, 2022
Something you may find a wee bit controversial…
... you don't need a website.
Eeeek, copywriters, graphic designers, and web developers...
...please don't come at me. I love you, and you're super talented...
BUT...
I spent $5,000 on a website for my online fitness business that got me one client.
That’s correct - one.
I don’t know how much you know about cost per lead, but I can confirm that $5,000 for one client is a uniquely horrible cost return.
My online fitness biz supported over 400 women.... 399 of those came from Instagram or referral.
Today I have a few landing pages - or "sales pages" but if I'm honest most of my sales are done in my DMs.
Human to human.
Social media is just DIFFERENT.
I love social because it allows people to actually see you....
...to actually showcase who you are or who your brand is
....to create real connection
....to invite people into your world.
Ask yourself: where are people discovering me and my business?
If your answer is "social media", why the eff are you spending so much time and money on your website?
This applies to you too, product fam.
If your answer is "they're not discovering me yet", I can tell you that the likelihood of someone stumbling across your website without social is basically zero.
Social provides the best opportunity to be discovered... and just packs wayyyyy more of a punch.
You can show up AUTHENTICALLY on social media, and we know 2022 is the year people buy from people and not brands.
