That Summer-Time Lazy Social Media Content Vibe
Aug 01, 2023
I am really enjoying summer.
Like, maybe a little too much - ha, kidding - we both know that isn't a real thing (you can't ever have too much fun).
But... the truth is, opening up my Canva app has honestly just felt boring, and not exciting... which as a person who creates social media content for a living is kind of a problem.
You probably wouldn't know it by what my social account looks like however... because I've mastered the art of doing the bare-ass-minimum to keep things alive (while still having month over month growth)..
So, what am I doing, while dodging Canva and content creation like the plague?
- Repurposing all the things. Do you even remember what you posted 6 months ago!? Good, neither does anyone else - repost your old content.
- Lazy reels are the vibe right now. Film some b-roll (aka a video of you doing something you do every day, or just something happening in your world), pick a trending sound, and put your thoughts over it. Example here.
- Posting less. I found myself in the habit of posting daily during my most recent launch, and because of it, it made me feel like I had to. I've scaled back to 4 posts a week, including my podcast reel (so it's really more like 3) and continue to show up on stories because well, its easy.
- Did I mention stories? I'm putting my attention there. Most of the conversion on Instagram happens in stories anyway, so that's where I'm showing up regularly - knowing that the desire to create exciting feed content will return eventually.
BONUS - not feeling guilty about it.
Permission to do the same.
