Stop breaking your own boundaries...and a story about when I broke mine...

I broke a boundary last week.
I was mad at myself for the entire day.
So.. what did I do?
I got on the phone for a follow-up sales call with a potential client that was on the fence.
We had an initial call, then some follow up-emails, and then I got on this second call…
You may be wondering why this is “bad” for me…
…you see, my dreamiest client isn’t on the fence. She KNOWS she’s ready.
She doesn’t need a sales call, let alone two.
She doesn’t need me to convince her she’s ready or that I’m the coach to take her there.
She already knows.
She leads herself.
This potential client didn’t buy.
Of course she didn’t.
The whole situation was just not in alignment for how I do business.
I took the call, because I’m a human – and sometimes saying no is hard, especially when it feels like you’re in pursuit of something that matters.
This was a big project, and would have meant a lot for my business and my family.
So… while I was feeling very very frustrated with myself for a while…
…it was a beautiful reminder that my boundaries are PRECIOUS and not to break them again.
