One Year Ago, I Fell. Today, I Rise.
Mar 11, 2025
One year ago (tomorrow), I fell off my horse and broke my leg.
It wasn’t just a break—it was a full stop. A hard, jarring pause in my life and business that forced me to sit with discomfort, slow down when I didn’t want to, and re-evaluate everything.
For months, I struggled. Not just with healing physically, but with the frustration of not being able to move at my usual pace. The overwhelm of feeling like I was falling behind. The identity crisis of wondering, Who am I if I can’t do all the things?
But here’s what I’ve learned, one year later, standing strong (literally) on the other side of it:
A setback doesn’t define you—your comeback does.
I could have let that fall be the thing that slowed me down permanently. I could have used it as an excuse to shrink back. Instead, I chose to build back stronger, and today, I feel like I’ve completed my own redemption arc.
Rest isn’t the enemy—it's the rebuild.
I used to wear doing everything like a badge of honour. But being forced to slow down showed me that real growth happens in the moments we pause, not just in the moments we push.
You can start over at any time.
If you’re in a tough season—if life has thrown you off course—know this: you’re not stuck. You are never too far gone to rise again. The version of you that gets back up is always stronger than the version that fell.
So if you're feeling like things are hard right now, like you're behind, like you’re stuck—just remember: you’re in the middle of your own comeback story. And one day soon, you’ll be able to look back and see how every challenge was shaping you into someone even stronger.
