I've got a vulnerable story for you today.
Jan 18, 2022
I almost burned my house down last year.
I was making French toast, while being yelled at by my infant, answering client emails, and rushing to pick up my daughter from school.
I left the house and forgot about the French toast on the stove.
I was about 5 minutes from home when I realized what I’d done.
I turned around… sobbing, driving way too fast, with my infant in the backseat (also crying), hoping that by some miracle, my entire kitchen wasn’t on fire.
It wasn’t.
It was just a very black piece of toast.
If you’ve made it this far… you’re probably wondering why I’m sharing this with you.
I’m sharing it because this was the moment I realized I needed to make a change.
My world was quite literally on fire.
I was asking too much of myself, without help, guidance, or support.
So, I reassessed everything.
I stopped doing things in my business that made me stressed.
I hired a VA to help me with some administrative tasks
And I hired a coach.
Because I needed someone to help me get my head straight.
To sort through all the noise, and stress, and help me hold all the sides of entrepreneurship and motherhood and to literally be my human fire extinguisher.
We talk about motherhood as taking a village, but for some reason entrepreneurship doesn’t have the same tune.
It should, and it always will for me.
If you’re part of my village – thanks for helping me keep my house from burning down. I love you.
If you’re out there barely keeping the french toast from burning, know that I see you, I’m here, and I want to help.
