I Made My First Official Hire This Year—And It’s Not What You Think
Feb 04, 2025
So, I did a thing.
I made my first official hire this year—and it’s not for my business. It’s for my life.
I hired a house manager. 🙌
Because here’s the truth: I don’t like domestic tasks. I’m just owning it.
Laundry, meal planning, random errands—they’re just not my thing, and they never have been. And for a long time, I felt like I should be handling it all, like it was just part of the “entrepreneur + mom” package deal.
But every time I tried to power through it, I felt drained. It pulled me away from the things that actually light me up—growing my business, spending time with my family, and, honestly, just having the headspace to think.
Last year I read Dan Martell’s book Buy Back Your Time, and it hit me: I was spending way too much of my time on things that weren’t moving the needle in my business... but I was ALSO wasting too much time in my day to day life.
In the book, Dan talks about how we end up wasting our most valuable resource—our time—by doing things that someone else could easily handle. The goal isn’t just to make more money; it’s to buy back your time so you can focus on the things that actually matter.
So, I started asking myself:
👉 What am I holding onto that someone else could do better (and probably faster)?
👉 What’s sucking up my energy and leaving me feeling frustrated?
👉 How can I create more breathing room in my life?
And now, I want you to ask yourself the same thing.
What’s one thing in your life or business that’s taking up way too much of your time and energy? Maybe it’s time to let it go.
Here are a few things you don’t have to keep doing yourself:
- Home: cleaning, meal prep, errands, laundry (trust me on this one).
- Business: admin tasks, social media, emails, bookkeeping.
- Personal life: grocery shopping, scheduling, booking appointments
Letting go of stuff you don’t love doing doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re making space for what actually matters.
So, what’s the first thing you’re ready to take off your plate? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear it.
Here’s to buying back our time,
