I'm reading Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins... Here's What You Need To Know
Feb 18, 2025
I’m diving into Let Them by Mel Robbins right now, and let me tell you—it’s hitting hard.
If you haven’t read it yet, the basic premise is simple but powerful: “Let them.”
Let people think what they’re going to think, do what they’re going to do, and be who they’re going to be—without letting it derail you.
And honestly? This applies to entrepreneurship in a big way.
As business owners, we spend so much time worrying about what other people think:
👉 “What if they don’t like my offer?”
👉 “What if someone thinks I’m too expensive?”
👉 “What if people judge me for showing up online?”
But here’s the truth: let them.
Let them have their opinions. Let them question your prices. Let them think whatever they want about your journey. Because the reality is, you’re not building your business for them. You’re building it for you—for the life and impact you want to create.
Here’s where I think Let Them can make a real difference for entrepreneurs like us:
1. Let them doubt you.
Not everyone is going to get what you’re doing—and that’s okay. You don’t need validation from everyone in your life. Stay in your lane and keep showing up.
2. Let them go.
Not every client, friend, or follower is meant to stick around forever. If someone doesn’t align with your values or your vision, let them go and make room for the right people.
3. Let them judge.
People are going to have opinions whether you stay small or go big—so you might as well go big. Their opinions don’t pay your bills.
4. Let them underestimate you.
Instead of trying to prove yourself to everyone, focus on actually doing the work. Success speaks louder than opinions ever will.
The more I read, the more I realize how much energy we waste trying to control things outside of our control. And honestly? It’s exhausting.
So my challenge for you this week:
What (or who) do you need to let go of?
Is it a toxic client? A fear of being judged? The pressure to be everything to everyone?
