Last month I broke a commitment to myself.

 

 

Why? Because I had been feeling a bit uninspired about content, and thought that perhaps - a challenge would be a fun way to get my inspiration back.

 

And while at first, it was kind of fun... by about day 20 it started to really suck.

 

So I quit after 24 days. But there's a good reason, and I promise there is a lesson.

 

Firstly - I don't want to post on social media everyday. I never have wanted to, and I never will want to...

 

I was also having to sprinkle in static posts to keep my strategy consistent and frankly TWO posts a day is just not a precedent I'd ever like to keep.

 

Whomever is touting posting daily or multiple times a day just simply must have more energy than I do, which is a reality I'm willing to accept.

 

I've got WAY more sh*t to do than create 31 reels in a month + 5-7 static posts. Hard pass, thanks.

 

Secondly - I was having to work really hard to come up with content - and was honestly just forcing it.

 

I'd so much rather you have less quality content from me, than just be blasted with a ton of mediocre work. I was posting for the sake of posting, which I just never want to do.

 

You may be wondering why the heck I'm sharing this with you - because there is a lesson, I promise.

 

I chose to do a reel a day in May because truthfully, I had seen other people do it and thought I can do that - even though - as a general rule I don't copy what other people are doing (busted!).

 

Of course someone else's strategy didn't feel good for me - this wasn't a surprise at all, but a good reminder of why.

 

I could have stuck with it - because I said I would - but honestly, why? There is no point in doing something in life or business if you hate it. You are allowed to change your mind.

 

There may be something in your business that you're doing right now that is making you feel sticky, or that you're just not enjoying - consider this your permission to drop it.
