How to Make 2025 Your Unstoppable Year

entrepreneurship marketing Dec 09, 2024
The year is coming to an end, and if you haven’t started planning for 2025 yet, consider this your nudge—it’s time. Whether you’re dreaming big for your business, focused on being more present at home, or trying to juggle both, I want to share a framework to help you step into 2025 with clarity and confidence.

Let’s be real—2024 was weird for me. I walked into the year with big plans, and life had its own ideas. Looking back, there were wins, hurdles, and plenty of moments that taught me what really matters. But as I sit here reflecting, I feel so excited for what’s to come in 2025.

In this post, I’m sharing what I’m doing to make 2025 my best year yet—on my terms. My hope is that this framework helps you create a year that feels aligned and fulfilling, no matter what your goals are.

Why Planning Matters

Let me tell you, I love being in the flow—creating on a whim, chasing ideas as they come. But here’s the thing: when I don’t have a plan, chaos takes over. Suddenly, I’m overwhelmed, pulled in too many directions, and spinning my wheels instead of making progress.
Planning brings clarity. It helps you align your business goals with your family priorities, reduce stress, and confidently say no to what doesn’t serve you. When you know your priorities, it’s so much easier to focus on what truly matters.

How I’m Planning My Best Year Yet

Here’s the framework I’m using to plan my 2025. It’s simple, effective, and keeps me focused on the things that matter most.

1. Reflect on Your Vision and Values

Start by asking yourself: What does your ideal day look like in 2025?
Now, compare that to where you are today. What’s working? What’s not? How are your business and personal life fitting together—or not?
Get clear on what matters to you. If Friday night movie time with your family is a non-negotiable, make it a priority. If your heart lights up when you’re at Pilates or out riding your horse, that’s what matters.
Your vision is yours. There’s no should about it.

2. Set Intentional Goals

Here’s where we keep it simple: pick three goals for your business and three for your personal life. That’s it.
Make them specific. Instead of “I want to grow my business,” try “I want to grow my email list by 20% in Q1.” One of my big goals is to grow This Mother Means Business to 1,000 members by the end of 2025. It’s ambitious, but it’s clear.
For personal goals, maybe it’s working out twice a week, joining a Pilates studio, or scheduling regular time to unplug with your family. Whatever it is, make it meaningful and measurable.

3. Break It Down Into Milestones

Big goals are overwhelming, but breaking them into quarterly milestones? That’s manageable.
Let’s say your goal is to grow your email list by 20%—set a milestone for 5% growth each quarter. Or if your goal is to prioritize family time, schedule one intentional activity every week to start.
These bite-sized steps keep you moving forward without feeling like you’re climbing a mountain.

4. Make Space for Ambition and Rest

This one is huge. As entrepreneurial moms, we often feel like we have to earn our rest—but we don’t. Your rest is just as important as your work.
When you plan your year, make sure you’re aligning your calendar with your values. Schedule your focused work time and block time for the things that fill you up. For me, that’s time with my family and time at the barn with my horse.
Your business success and your family joy can coexist. It’s not about doing more—it’s about doing more of what matters.
