how long it should take to hit 6 figures

The online space is weird.
A simple 5 minute swipe will make you feel like there is something wrong with you if you aren't making 6 figure months yet.
And while these messages seem to be the loudest on Instagram, the truth is... most people don't even make 6 figures a YEAR in their business.
In fact, only 12% of women-owned businesses generate more than $100k in revenue annually.
When I see this stat I feel two things...
- There are not nearly enough women generating 6 figures and I really really want to fix that and,
- We need to be more realistic with ourselves about our results.
Now, this is not an invitation to play small, but it is an invitation to think about just HOW WELL you are probably doing.
I have been insanely hard on myself this year, and I'm still on track for another multi-six figure year.
I've been feeling like there is something wrong with me because I've been in business for 3 years and haven't crossed the 7 figure mark annually yet.
After a pep talk and a self-shake down, I had to take a minute that the fact that I revenue in the top 5% of women owned businesses worldwide. I have NOTHING to be disappointed about, and frankly 3 years is a minute in business.
The reason I share this with you is because I want you to know that you aren't behind. You are probably just following a normal growth trajectory in your business... and that's okay.
Building a successful business takes time. It's not something that just happens overnight.
Or in a month, two, or six even.
It takes YEARS of hard work, commitment, and showing up day in and day out.
So if you're in a season where you're being hard on yourself, I hope this email either gives you the perspective to know just how great you're really doing OR reminds you that its okay if its not happening over night.
